SARAH FOWLER

Sarah was born and raised in Minneapolis and is a 2008 graduate of the Perpich Center for Arts Education. Now a junior in the BFA program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), she is majoring in Drawing/Painting and also has a strong interest in printmaking. Based on blind contour drawing, her work focuses on the layering of organic shape and line, the interaction of color, and its affect on space when applied both transparently and opaquely. In addition to gallery work Sarah is also interested in teaching, and has held a position as an art instructor working with 5-13 year olds at the Art Academy in St. Paul for four years. She has also helped out with summer studio classes for kids at MCAD through the continuing studies program.
